Holbrooke will not go back to the Island

President Denktas has announced that the US Cprus Special Representator Richard Holbrooke has left the Island without any chance of return


       US President Clinton's Cyprus Special Representator Richard Holbrooke has completed his 3 day visit to Cyprus without any positive development.
       Mr. Holbrooke who will be going to Germany this morning won't be back to the Island on 8th May. President Rauf Denktas has announced that Mr. Holbrooke will not return to the Island as it had been planned before after the last meeting he held with the Representator. Mr. Denktas who has said Mr. Holbrooke's mission still continues for him, stated that he is ready to be negotiator once more, but he will wait an invitation from Mr. Klerides this time.
       President Denktas said they will be in contact with Mr. Holbrooke and added similer to Mr. Holbrooke, the Us Foreign Office Cyprus Special Coordinator Mr. Miller has also changed his programme and he won't stay on the island to continue talks as well. Thomas Miller goes to Germany with Richard Holbrooke.
       Mr. Denktas repeated that the responsible of the whole problem is the EU and demanded to have a common attitude towards the Greek Cyprate.
       On the other hand the Greek Cyprate administration admitted that Mr. Holbrooke couldn't come over the dispute. The Greeks accused the Turkish side as being the responsible and stated that President Denktas has offered Mr. Holbrooke a three harsh article proposal which bids the Greeks to stop talks with the EU, recognition of KKTC and the removal of the EU Supreme Court embargo.
