Ocalan conflict in Athens
Ankara stated that the PKK leader went to Russia after leaving Athens and arrived in Athens at the weekend
It has been determined that Ocalan has to go back as he couldn't succeed in his attempts in Europe after leaving Russian at the weekend.
Ocalan who stayed in Russia until the last weekend, used his connections with PASOK which invited him to Athens before and went to Athens in a plane on Sunday.
Leaving Athens, changed his route to Holland, however the authorities in Holland didn't let Ocalan land in Rotterdam. After fuel feeding in Rotterdam, Ocalan requested landing allowance from the countries on his route.
As he couldn't succeeded in his attempts, changed his route back to Athens. The European courtries that Ocalan requested to land, informed Ankara that "Ocalan was near, but landed in Athens." It has been recored that CIA also approved the information.
Due to the aproval of the information, the Foreign Ministry, invited the Greek Ambassador in Ankara once more. As Greece denied the claim, Turkish Foreign Ministry assumed Ocalan left Athens. During the same hours,the information that Ocalan landed in an airport in Milano, using Sweedish air space. However the plane that landed on Milano and the one used by Ocalan were not the same type.
A Foreign Ministry official said "He may landed in Milano, it is not certain yet. However it is certain that he went to Athens at the weekend. The plane went to Milano may be used to create the feeling that Ocalan left Athens. They may try to confuze our minds. He is very likely to be in Athens, with the support of the PASOK members."
