As SEKA (state - owned paper factories) workers continue their protests following the decision to privatize the company, government's cancelling of the project didn't prove to be enough to calm down the angry workers. In spite of the heavy rain, 30,000 labourers gathered at Anitpark in Ankara to protest the decision. Leaders of Turk - Is, DISK and Hak - Is labour unions also attended the demonstrations.
The meeting, to support the SEKA workers, was held by labourers from various cities including also Sakarya, Afyon and Tokat. Before the demonstrations, police detected all the protestors under the framework of strict security measures. All documents that would be handed out to the participants, were seized by the police.
The 30,000 workers who were there despite the rain, continuously chanted out slogans criticizing the government. Deputies Necati Celik, Bekir Yrdagul, Osman Pepe and Hayrettin Uzun were also at Anitpark to show their support to the protestors.
