A spare budget of 100 trillion liras

       Ahead of the efforts for reducing the growth rate below 4.5%, keeping public investment figures at a minimum level, implementing the budgetary discipline principles without concessions and of the D - day for the Southeast by the Board of Ministers and President Suleyman Demirel, officials are trying to find a solution to financial needs with a so - called "spare budget."
       At the High Planning Board meeting last week, State Minister Isin Celebi made a proposal for fund - creation for the 125 public projects - formulated by the Democratic Turkey Party - which he defined as "essential."
       The tendency to pass a "spare budget" increased as Salih Yildirim, the state minister in charge of the Southeastern Project (GAP), stated that investments in the region are stumbling and that they are behind the schedule.
       But reportedly the Finance Minister Zekeriya Temizel rejected the spare budget, which will be discussed in details by the seniors of the DPT, the Finance Ministry and the Treasury. A final decision is expected from the meeting which will be held today.
