Ak Party names Binali Yildirim as new chairman, prime minister candidate

Party’s spokesperson Omer Celik: “Our dear friend and deputy; Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yildirim has been designated as the candidate for the chairmanship.”

It was stated that 80% of the party executives had agreed on Yildirim; he will likely be approved as the new party leader at an extraordinary congress on Sunday.
