Apo banned from giving statements

The government brings sanctions on Ocalan, whose execution has been delayed for now. He will no longer be able to make statements and influence people.

       Koray Aydin, Minister of Housing from the Nationalist Action Party (MHP), stated that Abdullah Ocalan will no longer be allowed to make statements from Imrali. Ocalan's execution has been delayed for now by the decision of the leaders who met last Wednesday. " The statements Ocalan has made from Imrali have been discussed by the leaders. From now on Ocalan will be treated like the other prisoners, and will not be allowed to make statements. Since his imprisonment, Ocalan has been giving speeches like a leader of a political party and he has been trying to influence people. This will be stopped from now on. He will be kept under control like other prisoners, and will be stopped from doing so." said Aydin.

No problem

       Aydin denied the allegations that MHP was very uneasy about the decison of delaying Ocalan's execution. When reminded his words, " If removing death penalty during the time Ocalan's file is kept at the Prime Ministry is brought on the agenda, we will not be a part of this government." Mr.Aydin said, " There are many steps Turkey ought to take on the way to the European Union. What I said was, removing death penalty should be one of the last things Turkey has to do on the way to enter EU."
