A group of 5 deputies who are in North Iraq with the invitation of the Kurdish Democrat Party (KDP), stated that there is not an attempt to establish a Kurdish state at the region and added that KDP leader Mesut Barzani, have given them guarantee on this issue.
Diyarbakır Deputies of ANAP, Sebgetullah Seydaoğlu, Nurettin Dilek, Hakkari Deputy Mecit Piruzbeyoğlu, Virtue Party's Diyarbakır Deputy Hasim Hasimi and Mardin Deputy of DSP, Mustafa Tugmaner, have emphasized that the issue of establishing a Kurdish state in North Iraq have been discussed with Mesut Barzani. Articulating that Mesut Barzani has given them the guarantee that a Kurdish state will not be established in the region, Hasim Hasimi has criticised the fact that his friend from the same party, Cemil Cicek, has given the Parliament a motion for investigation on the issue that a Kurdish state will be established in the region and that the US will support this.
