Beware of provocations! Help the peace

President warns for provocations after the postponement decision for Ocalan's death penalty. I advice my citizens not to fall in traps.


       President Suleyman Demirel stated that the decision of the coalition leaders for the death penalty against Abdullah Ocalan is a right one. "Such conditions are open to provocation and no one knows where such provocations can reach," he said.
       Answering the questions in the Presidential Palace the President considered the decision of the coalition government as big, difficult and sensitive.

A relaxing decision

       Those who govern the country do not always face easy problems to decide on, Demirel said.
       "We have to be aware of the high interests of the country and what could be the advantages and the disadvantages of such decisions.
       There are both foreign and internal demands from the Turkish state. These can only be achieved through political stability. It is much harder to give such a decision in a coalition government. I think this decision has relaxed the country," he added.
