"Elections should be held in June"

Elections should be held in June

State Minister Responsible of Economy, Isın Celebi has reacted harshly against the reconciliation of Mesut Yılmaz and CHP leader Deniz Baykal on the establishment of an election government under the leadership of a neutral in October and the local and general election date to be March 1999.
Mr. Celebi claimed that these decisions will harm the recoveries and developments in economy and said:
"We have talked on this issue for seven hours in ANAP MKYK meeting. The Prime Minister told why the government doesn't want an election and why the general elections should took place after the local electios. MKYK member 44 friends also stated views in comply with the prime minister. Such a decision will cause a retreat for Turkey. The economy will receive harm once more. It is not possible to understand what happened and which bargain brought us to this point. Mr. Yılmaz had said he is forced to go to elections, however he doesn't have any plan to do so."
"The decision to establish an election government in October will cause the following six months to be instable" said the State Minister. "If it is so, lets hold all of the elections in June. Let's survive Turkey. I feel disturbed because of such a lack of political forsight. We have began to decrease the inflation rate, the economy signals positive movement. I think the earliest election date should be 1999 October. Noone says no for an election. But no election can take place by demand of 5 or 10 people. This is why we are seperate than the world" he added.
