'February 28th will go on'

       Describing February 28th as a continuing process since the founding of the republic, President Suleyman Demirel said that this process would go on. receiving State Minister Ramazan Mirzaoglu and his delegation from Kirsehir at the Presidency Residence, Mr.Demirel responded to reporters' questions. Mr.Demirel said the following when asked for his evaluation of the 3rd year of the February 28th decisions: " The first article of the February 28th decisions is about protection of democracy and secularism. The last article is about to respond against those who slander Ataturk. This is a process that has started since the founding of the republic and that still continue." Upon the question on what he thinks about the The Turkish Armed Forces' claim that the decisions of February 28th are not fully practiced, Suleyman Demirel said, " Some of these decisions are not easy to practice. It will take some time. They are being carried out. We are hoping to attain a democratic and secular Turkish Republic through making sure that the decisions of February 28th are being carried out."
