First imprisonment in Susurluk case

       A chief police officer, an officer and a local authority who have been claimed to arrange a false report and residence permit for Abdullah Catli to have gun licence are sentenced to 1.8 years of imprisonment.
       Chief police officer Dogan Simsek, police officer Dincer Sariboga and the local authority of Sehremini Uzunyusuf Ward have attended to the session that has been held in Fatih Penalty Court. Simsek's advocate Ahmet Ulger stated that his defendant didn't know that Mehmet Ozbay and Abdullah Catli are the same person until the Susurluk accident, thus he didn't arrange any false document.
       Mr. Ulger said that the document has been prepared by the order of Istanbul Assistant Security Director Huseyin Kocadag who has been killed in Susurluk accident, and does not have the quality for the approval of gun licence. Mr Ulger stated as follows:
       "The document prepared by my defendant Simsek, states that no application has been done for vital security. Istanbul Governorship and the Securiüy Department states that no gun licance can be approved under these conditions and leaves the discretionay power to the Ministry of the Interior."
       Te judge has announced the decision and sentenced the convicts to two years of imprisonment for arranging false report for a person with false identification card. The imprisonment has been decreased to 1.8 years, regarding the good manner of the convicts.
