Hacettepe seeks Ozal's hair

The Hacettepe University said that it could clarify the "posioning claim" in one week.

While Ahmet Ozal's claim that his farther might have been poisioned continues to raise cotroversy, Hacettepe University said that it could shed light on the subject by examining the hair of Turkey's 8th president Turgut Ozal which is kept by Semra Ozal. Prof. Dr. Aytekin Temizer head of the Turkish Doping Control Centre at the university said that they could clarify tne subject in just one week. Temizer who stated that they could determine if Ozal was poisoned before he died said, "At our centre we can analyse drugs and other substances by examining the hair. We can conduct the test if Mrs. Ozal sends us the hair. The lapse of time does not cause the effect of the poison to disappear. Substances that pass through the blood veins leave their mark on hair. Once they enter the hair substances never degenerate. We will glaodly start working on the subject if we receive sech a proposal."
Founded in 1990 the Turkish Doping Control Centre has a staff of 25 people. Centre can determine medicine an substances by analysing hair, tear drops, blood or urine. Temizer stated that the centre which is in accordance with the International Olympic Comittee standards could technology-wise contest its U.S. counterparts.
