Just like a meeting

       President Suleyman Demirel's reception at the Presidential Palace to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Turkish Republic apppeared to be a meeting - like gathering.
       3,500 - among the total 5,600 invited - guests arrived at the palace had to wait for Suleyman Demirel neary for one hour as his talk with foreign presidents finished later than the expected time.
       It was an ordinary night at the palace yesterday where a great ceremony was held. Mr. Demirel who welcomed foreign guests at Cankaya, addressed the participants from a platorm at the reception hall, where he arrived at 20:00 pm. Besides the Prime Minister, General Staff in Chief and senior politicians, party leaders, lawmakers, bureaucrats and many artists attended the gathering. Emel Sayin, Gonul Yazar, Ebru Gundes, Bulent Ersoy and her husband were the main focus of the visitors at the reception which partly turned into a "show of artists".
