Labour platform from unions

       Turk - Is, Hak - Is and DISK leaders announced that the three labour organizations formed a long - term alliance. Turk - Is leader Bayram Meral, Hak - Is leader Salim Uslu and DISK chairman Ridvan Budak told in a joint press conference yesterday that they decided to act together on a democratic line in a bid to find solutions to workers' problems, including lay - offs in particular.
       The three confedrations also formed a secretariat for this cooperation. They will closely watch the government formation process and conduct urgent needs of the workers to the new government.
       Not differences but common views will be brought to the foreground in this platform which targets a long - term union. Leaders who plan to meet on January 7 at the DISK headquarters in Istanbul will focus mainly on a planned strike in the textile industry on January 10.
       After the settlement of the labour platform, links will be formed with other organizations. A lunch will be held with the leaders of public workers' unions, including KESK, Kamu - Sen and Memur Sen.
