Taha Yasin Ramazan: "Turkey is under the influence of US. It should change its manner. The relations between Iraq and Turkey should be like as it was before 1990. Iraq doesn't want Turkey to receive any harm"

Iraqi Vice President Taha Yasin Ramazan stated that Turkey and Iraq are two countries that share the same region and future and thus the relations between these two countries shouldn't be seen in short term.
In a statement given to a group of journalists Mr. Ramazan claimed that Turkey's foreign policy is under the influence of US and the government should change this manner.
Taha Yasin Ramazan who is also a member of Iraqi Revolution Command Comitee, stated that although it has brought Iraq and US to the point of war it is impossible to open the presidential sites to the control of UNISCOM officials, but these sites can be visited by a comitee made up of permanent representators of UN Security Council.
Mr. Ramazan also noted that the so called biological and chemical weapons that are claimed to be in Iraq is only a trick that US government made up to betray the other countries.

Mr. Ramazan requested from the Turkish government to base their policy towards Iraq as it was before 1990 and continued as follows:
"We want our relations to be normal with Turkey. We want Turkey to perceive these relations from an objective point of view and to see the future of the relation between the two countries. Turkey should not be under any influence of a foreign country in terms of its relations with Iraq. Turkey needs economical, political security and stabilization. As a neighbor country Iraq also wants Turkey to be in peace. We don't want Turkey to receive any harm because of the probable problems that would occur in the region. "
Mr. Ramazan also claimed that "The application of US policies or the Turkish support given to US would stop the negotiation ground between Turkey and Iraq."
