Minister Oral: Finance Ministry does not give awards.

       Finance Minister Sumer Oral said he was invited to Bursa for a ceremony
       organized by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce, where he presented an award to
       Cavit Caglar.
       "I received an invitation from the Bursa Chamber of Commerce. Other deputies
       for the city of Bursa were present at this ceremony. It is a custom that
       Ministers and deputies attending ceremonies are asked to present prizes.
       That is why I presented a prize. But it was not the Ministry of Finance that
       was presenting the award. The local Chamber is the body, which determines
       the receivers of such awards, not the Ministry. Mr. Caglar received an
       income tax award. You can not decline to present the award if you are
       attending such ceremonies. But I must repeat, it was not the Ministry which
       presented the award," Oral told reporters.
