Mr. Celebi: The budgetary discipline should continue

       State Minister Isin Celebi said that the structural reforms are necessary accross the world both for finance and public sectors. He also warned that the political party leaders should now agree on how to meet the 21st century in Turkey.
       The minister - level meetings of the OECD started on Monday in Paris. Turkey was represented by Foreign Minister Ismail Cem and state Minister Isin Celebi.
       The minisstral meeting of the OECD, Mr. Celebi made a speech on the session for Asian crisis. He stressed that increasin the domestic demand is important and the purchasing power and income distribution play important roles in the Asian crisis.
       He also underlined that domestic markets should be kept vivid, besides pressing that smoll and medium scale businesses should be given importance. Mr. Celebi pinted to the fact that the economic organizetions forgot these factors, thus could't predict the Asian crisis beforehand.
       "The international economic organizations couldn't predict the Asian crisis and they posted positive pointscited countries. One must see that a hormoned economy won't be able to stand on its feet" he was quoted as saying.
       Meanwhile he said that the government and economy agents took ther lessons well and that they learned how to manage a dynamic and growing economy. In a press conference for Turkish journalists he said: "Tukey mustn't go towards an election economy; the economy is in a recovery period with successes. Turkey has the strength to overcome problems. There should be no deviations from tha practiced programmes. Budgetary discipline must continue. And the programme must continue until 1999"
