Second stroke in industry

Industry which yet couldn't have recovered itself from the 17 August earthquake, stroke by another earthquake. The first estimates by the government guess the loss about $10 billion


       The industrial plants in Bolu which were shaken by an earthquake, which was measured 7.8 on a Richter scale, was shaken once more with another strike which was measured 7.2.
       As electricity can not be supplied for the plants in Bolu, Kaynasli and Duzce, the production has stopped in these places and the authorities say there are many other establishments on the region that received damage. The second earthquake targeted the places where people live.
       There are more than 3 thousands of establishments in Bolu. Among these Ardem, Bolu Cement Manufacture Plants, Filiz Macaroni, Mudurnu Chicken, Seka Bolu Laminate and Plate Factory, Gentas, Kelebek Furniture, Koy - Tur and Bolu Milk Production Plants can be listed.
       There are two organised industrial plants in Bolu and Gerede. The active establishments generally work furniture, metal, power and chemistry industry.
       50% of Bolu province is made up of forrests. 55% of the total green area in Turkey is in Bolu as well. Thus the motivator of Bolu economy is the wood products. The wood products also improved the transportation sector in the city.
