The Assembly visits Milliyet

The members of the Chairmanship Couincil of the Turkish Grand National Assembly visited Milliyet. The main talk was the immunity issue.

Planned limitations on the immunity of the deputies was the main talk of the night. Group directors of the political parties in the parliament, evaluated the proposal for cancellation of Sedat Bucak's and Mehmet Agar's immunity by the Mixed Commision of Constitution and Justice, as well as the destiny of the proposal for alterations in the Costitution for which a consensus ground is tried to be formed among the political parties. The deputies complained that all the deputies become targets although the "immunity files are just about a few people."
Oya Araslı Group Deputy Chairperson of the Republican People's Party (CHP) complained about the rejection of an alteration text on limiting immunity and the discussions on whether the constitutional change will be made by secret or open voting. She said "We bring a regulation that says 'It is the assembly that will decide whether it will be a secret or open voting', so the problem is solved."
