State Minister Mehmet Ali Irtemcelik
has shown a harsh reaction against the decision of the coalition partners to control the secret votes. He described this application as "tribal democracy". It is reported that Mr.Irtemcelik is considering resigning. Mr.Irtemcelik said the following to a Milliyet reporter:
" The presidency elections in Turkey and the politicians in the process are staging a very sad play. Democracy is not a regime where you can get rid of ideas that are not like yours. You can not get rid of the results of voting that you do not like. If you try to this, the regime becomes a "tribal democracy". Turkey should surmount these pressures."
