"Turkey is a bridge" says Suleyman Demirel

President Suleyman Demirel attended the ceremony of laying foundation of the Islamabad - Peshawar highway. "The happiness of Pakistan is the happiness of Turkey. Here I address the Turkish engineers: Complete the construction of ths highway as soon as possible", said Mr Demirel as he stressed that there is an eternal brotherhood between Pakistan and Turkey.
Mr. Demirel yesterday laid the foundation of the Islamabad - Peshawar highway which will be constructed by the Bayindir Holding. The ceremony square was covered with banners carrying such slogans as "Welcome to Baba (Father). Turkey and Pakistan are eternal friends. Transportation is the way to economical development". Mr. Demirel started the highway project pushing the dynamite button and prayed with Nawaz Sharif before the monument that was built in honour of the highway. "Pakistan is my second country. Happiness of Pakistan means the happiness of Turkey. Today we share the same pride and excitement. This is not just a simple highway. It is a road that will carry your big country to a promising future of prosperity and happiness" said Mr. Demirel.
