Minister promises flights and road

       State Minister Salih Yildirim who is in charge of Southeast Anatolia said Sirnak people will be delighted with investments to he region. The State Minister attended Milliyet's agenda meeting in Sirnak via a conference system. Airplanes will start to land on Sirnak within a couple of years and Sirnak - Eruh road which was closed due to security reasons will be opened to traffic next year, he says, adding: "Siirt and Sirnak will survive hand in hand".
       State Minister Yildirim also stressed that Sirnak is a potantially rich place and quoted as saying: "If this potantial is practiced into real life in a reasonable way the problem will be solved." Mr. Yildirim announced that they will launch a substantial project on cattle - breeding. Then he made the following statement on the subject:
       "It is a 225 trililon worth mega - project. Sirnak is suitable only for sheep and goat breeding. So we formulated a project comprising of immediate issues. In the first phase of the project we plan to give 30 sheep and a ram to 100 families each. Then the number of families granted will climb to 300. The necessary 150 billion liras was met by the Foundation of Social Solidarity. This money will be transferred to related officials in the region and then project will be implemented gradually."
       Salih Yildirim pointed to the fact that Sirnak is an important region also with its coal reserves. He said that the ashes of Sirnak coal is rich in germanium, thus a thermal plant in Silopi and ashes from the coal will be very importan for Turkey.
