A car bombing killed at least 37 people, 35 were identified as victims, in the Turkish capital Ankara on March 13, 2016. 11 suspects have been detained in Sunday’s blast.

Two members of the terrorist organisation PKK are the suspected perpetrators of the Ankara attack. Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş said that one suicide bomber involved in Sunday’s attack was a female. Seher Çağla Demir was identified as the suicide bomber. The 24-year-old bomber was a student at Balıkesir University since 2012 and joined the PKK in 2013. Her father said he would not accept the funeral if she was the one who carried out this attack. The other suspected bomber was a male with links to the PKK, it was reported.
