40% loss in tourism

Talha Camas, Head of the executive board of TURSAB (Association of
Tourism Agencies of Turkey), has said opinions stating that the tourism in
Turkey has "recovered " do not reflect the truth. In the joint press
conference he gave with Ali Gureli, Head of TUROB (Association of Hotel
Owners in Turkey) he said that a good pointer for the situation of the
touristic season would be the number of tourist that land in the Antalya and
Dalaman airports. Camas said there was a 32-44% decrease in number of
foreign visitors. He said that hotels are only 38-60% full, and that there
were discounts up to 50%. Ali Gureli, pointed out that the 15.3 trillion
loan that the government had promised has not yet appeared in practice."
