President Suleyman Demirel backs Prime Minister Ecevit's critical arrows targetting Iran

Iran started to replace Syria

Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit said Iran's recent policy against Turkey could be caused by the chaos in Tahran. Mr. Ecevit told that the tension started with the arrest of two Turkish soldiers could be assessed under this framework.

In a press conference after seeing off President Suleyman Demirel to Egypt yesterday, the Prime Minister told Iran continues supporting PKK. "We have some complaints concerning Iran. PKK's existance in Syria decreased considerably. But Iran has started to replace Syria's place to a degree" he was quoted as saying. He also added that Iran opens its arms to PKK.
