Quake victims to whom two thousands of animals have been killed as sacrifice complain the donated meat was not delivered.
The quake victims in Golcuk, who have been almost suffering hunger for
nearly seven months as the Marmara quake hit the city seriously, complain
that the meat of the sacrificed animals in the Greater Feast was not
delivered.
The quake victims almost drove mad as the Provincial Disaster Coordinating
Governorship saved some of the meat to serve as hot meal, and some other to
distribute as roasted, salami and sausaces.
We sleep hungry
Fadime Karanfil, 60, stated that she
has lost many relatives in the
quake and said, "Everyone has forgotten us. There is no regular meal. We
sometimes sleep hungry, and haven't received any meat during the feast yet."
A thousand of quake victims in Izmir tent city in Degirmendere criticised
that the meat donated is collected in the governorship and said they have
been staying in tents for almost seven months, and the children and the
elderly get sick frequently because of malnutrition.
Where is the meat?
Quake victims Deniz Kaya, Songul Sarier, Nazmiye Gunay said only a few
charitable people brought 20 kilograms of meat in the first day of the
feast. Quake victims said they heard a donation campaign has been started,
however no meat has been delivered to them.
