The gang leaders bored in the single - cells in prisons in Europe want
to return to Turkish prisons


       The choice of the leaders of underground organisations captured in
       foreign countries who could not stand the conditions of the prisons abroad
       is being extradited to Turkey.
       The reason for those who prefer to stay in prisons in Turkey is that they
       got bored in their modern single - cells, and particularly the 20 - 30
       people ward system where prisoners enjoy themselves in their special type
       parties.
       Following Sedat Peker, Kursat Yilmaz, Alattin Cakici, and Hasan Heybetli
       another famous name of the world underground Ayvaz Korkmaz also preferred
       Turkish prison.
       Omer Yesilyurt, the lawyer of Sedat Peker who returned to Turkey on his own
       will and fulfilled his imprisonment in a prison in Turkey said, the ward
       system in Turkey helps the prisoner to spend much better time and the
       prisoners in Europe has no opportunity to come together.
       The member of the Study Board of the Human Rights Centre of the Istanbul Bar

       choose Turkish prisons is that the prisons in Turkey are much more
       comfortable.
       Huseyin Baybasin who was captured in Holland for drug smuggling has also
       went on a hunger strike to be extradited to Turkey. Complaining about the
       conditions in Vught Prison Baybasin has been on a hunger strike since
       December 25.
       His lawyer Tahsin Ekici said, "The conditions in the prison are too harsh.
       He has limited chance to have fresh air. The authorities even didn't let his
       mother to talk Kurdish in a visit. He has been in prison for 24 months but
       the trial didn't started yet. His only demand is to be extradited to Turkey
       and fulfill his imprisonment in a Turkish prison. He had stayed in
       Bayrampasa Prison before, he wants to go back there."
