Fight over the square

       The red cobble - stones of the Republic Square in Edremit, Balikesir causes conflicts.
       Hidir Kilic, the regional head of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) sharply criticized the municipality's town - planning practices. Mr. Kilic claimed that the red cobble - stones calls to mind the world famous Red Square of Moscow. "Edremit isn't Moscow. This doesn't suit a touristic site like here. This square will be written in the town's history as a shameful thing. Mayor Ahmet Oner is the Gulf Region agency to the Isiklar Tugla company, the producer of these stones. He is earning in an illicit way" he said.
       Mayor Ahmet Oner defined the claims raised by the MHP chief as "far from seriousness". "I have devoted myself to serving Edremit. I have no time to waste with some nonsense claims. Colours have nothing to do with politics. The MHP chief is conducting cheap politics. If he hates the colour red this much, he must first change the colour of his blood. Colours aren't under anybody's monopoly" he was quoted as saying.
