       Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz attended the signature ceremony held for an agreement over building of 4 natural gas power plants under the framework of build - and - operate system. 70% of the total $3 billion power plant investments will be met by foreign capital, as the consortium - member companies will pay for 30%. When completed, the plants will generate electricity two times more than the huge Ataturk Dam. Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz told that their governement marked a revolutionary period in terms of power generation.
       The three, out of four, plants will be constructed by Intergen - Enka, as the last one to be built by Baymina consortium including Bayindir, Mimag and National Power companies.
       The agreements were signed by Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz, Energy Minister Cumhur Ersumer, TEAS Director Zeki Koseoğlu, BOTAS Chairman Nevzat Arseven, Anka Chairman Sarik Tara, Intergen Chairman Carlos A. Riva and Bayindir Chairman Kamuran Cortuk.
       In his speech, the Prime Minister said: "8,000 kw electricity is generated in France per capita, when compared to 1,500 kw in Turkey. The total length of French highways is 10,000 kilometers as it is just 1,600 in our country. We have recently reached these figures."
