Ismail Cem: "Turkish Rebuplic of Northern Cyprus is not Kosova"

Foreign Minister Ismail Cem, answered CNN's questions yesterday on air and showed his reaction against the "minority" definition of Greek Foreign Minister Theodoros Pangalos for the Turks on the island.
After the meeting held with UN General Secretary Kofi Annan's Cyprus Counsellor Diego Cordovez, Mr. Cem has given a statement for the press and said "I thank Greece. Because they have shown that what Turkey says about Cyprus is true and the real obstacle is the manner of the Greeks."
The meeting of KKTC president Rauf Denktas and Kofi Annan in Genova is really important said Mr. Cem. "Everybody works for a solution. Succes depends on the good will of the officials related to the issue. But there is also another manner that prevents us to take a further step in Cyprus and changes the original direction of the problem" he added.
Mr. Cem also stated that "Probably Pangalos mixes the issue with the autonomy demand of Kosova from Sirbia. Regardless of UN's view which recognizes the equality of the two societies on the island he was encouraged enough to say 'a federation which will be established on the island will give autonomy for the Turks on the island'".
