Koc and Sabanci holdings unite under quality

       The two giant groups of Turkey united under quality. Brisa and Turk Traktor, subsidiaries of Sabanci and Koc groups, respectively, founded a quality team called Briturk. Cooperation between the two companies was set as wheels failed to fit the tractors produced by the Turk Traktor company.
       The workers of Brisa - which has a quality award - and a team from Turk Tractor held a meeting and the Briturk team solved the problem with just a single operation. Thus, Koc and Sabanci, which weren't expected to come together, united under one roof when quality was the issue.
       At the 11th Development Conference at the Brisa Sabanci Center, steps taken on quality so far, were exposed through various examples. Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayii ve Ticaret A.S. (BRISA) Director General Ahmet Piker, who made the opening speech of the conference, said that shifting quality management from theory into practice is inescapable. "Our target is to spread the overall quality understanding and to promote our workers to group performances", Mr. Piker was quoted as saying.
