Mayor's Special Action team

       The scandal which has dropped on the agenda of Turkey about the goings on in Batman is a chain of events which has its beginnings in 1994, six years ago.
       Mayor Salih Sarman founded a "Special Action Team" in the city of Batman and soon its fame became widespread in the city.
       Sarman held ameeting with the heads of tribes of Batman and choosing members for the Special Team, armed them with weapons. Sworn i to their duty, the Special team members soon began duty.
       However, Batman very shortly became the city with the most unsolved cases of murder, with up to 205 cases during the office of Sarman. One of those cases was that of DEP deputy Mehmet sincar, who went to the area to investigate the murders. Sincar and DEP administrator Metin Ozdemir were killed in an attack and DEP members Nizamettin Toguç, Veysiye Isik, Ahmet Baskaya and Tenzire Tanzim severely wounded.
       it is still a puzzle what happened to the weapons used by the Special team working in Batman. Investigations reveal that a great portion of weapons were smuggled into the country without customs transactions.
       Detectives also revealed endles corruption during the term of Sarman, including that of the building of a new termonal for Batman airport.
