Stating that the crucial point in Susurluk was the link between the accident and the politicians, Deniz Baykal said, "However we can not get to this link. There is wall in front of it, like the Chinese Wall. This is what makes things so unsolvable and this is what is so worrying."
Defending that everything that needs to be done has not been done in the second year of Susurluk, Baykal said, "But this should not cause despair. Because the issue is so detailed, it will definitely be solved in a long time."
Articulating that the issue has sides many sides; ethical, economical, social and political, Baykal said the following at the group meeting yesterday:
" Susurluk has shown us this; There are gangs, but the important thing is that the state has been photographed within these gangs. Everything is clearly revealed. Businessmen, gamblers and shooters have been determined to be in this picture. However there has not been a concrete finding to prove a politician's relation with gangs. Somehow there is an invisible hand obstructing the way to reach these findings."
Reminding that the political relation has been found out in the tape conversation between Cakıcı and Eyup Asık, but the incident has not been illuminated, Baykal said, "The relation is obvious. No one can claim that these conversations have been built around "patriotic" emotions."
