German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesman Steffen Seibert spoke on the Bundestag’s resolution recognising the mass killings of Armenians by Ottoman forces as ‘genocide.’
Seibert on June 3: “The relationship between Germany and Turkey is very broad and very deep. Such ties can and will weather any differences in opinion. You are and remain a part of our country.”
