Leyla Umar (87), one of the most worldwide known journalists of Turkey, has lost her life yesterday.

Umar is famous for her interviews with leaders including, Fidel Castro, İdi Amin, Nelson Mandela, Carlos Menem, Yaser Arafat. Umar had been fighting Alzheimer's disease since 2009. She started her career in 1955 with the Milliyet newspaper.
