Semsi Denizer is murdered

Chairman of coal mining union and deputy head of Turk - Is union, Semsi Denizer shot dead by a gunman outside his home in Zonguldak. The man shot Turk - Is secretary general Semsi Demizer was detained shortly after the incident, and he had confessed to killing the union leader allegedly because he has owed 40 million lira.
Zonguldak governor Ismet Metin said gunman shot Mr. Denizer as he got out of his car arriving home. He then held the gun to his own hand and threatened suicide. But police pounced on te man and dragged him to the ground before he could fire a shot.
Mr. Metin said Balik had a criminal record hadn had been sentenced to 20 years in jail for murder, but had been released after serving four and a half years.
Turk - Is head Bayram Meral said, he thought there were other motives for the shooting. "Clearly there are other things behing the incident," he said.
