Candidates withdrew as the Court of Appeals couldn't succeed to elect the members of the Supreme Board of Elections in 55 rounds. The elections calendar is redetermined
The elections for the empty chairs in the Supreme Board of Elections,
which
has been continuing for 6 months turn out to be a scandal. The
candidates withdrew as the 55th round didn't end up with a result last week.
The chairman of the Court of Appeals Sami Selcuk requested the names of
those who will put candidacy for the next election, nobody was stated to
give an answer to the call.
Answering Milliyet's question whether any result could be achieved this time
Selcuk said, "I have no idea, but it has to be solved."
"Our friends think the recent amendment in the law that extended Algan's
term in office is a favour. They think this is a violation of generality of
the laws. Thus we couldn't have any result, but I think if the elections are
renewed, we can find a solution."
