Suspects Sibel Ceylan and Niyazi Bulgan were acquitted in the case in which they were accused of the distribution of illegal footage and documents. Ceylan was arrested at the Ataturk Airport for possession of illegal propaganda material. The material in question was a short feature film in Kurdish which Ceylan was asked to take abroad. The film was part of a file given to Ceylan by lawyer Niyazi Bulgan in order to be delivered to Ocalan's lawyer Brita Breugler. Ceylan also stated that she was subjected to torture while she was in custody.
Also Ocalan's lawyer Niyazi Bulgan, pointed out that the file sent contained correspondence concerning Ocalan's trial to be handed over to Ocalan's lawyers abroad. He also stated that the film in question did not contain propaganda of any organisation, and that it had received various awards in film festivals in Milan and Hamburg. After the viewing of the film, suspects were acquitted on the grounds that the film contained no illegal propaganda.
