Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has paid a visit to Azerbaijan's capital Baku after German Parliament had approved a bill recognising the Armenian ‘genocide.’

Delivering a speech at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on June 3, Yildirim said the German Parliament’s resolution has no significance for Turkey.

Yildirim: “Azerbaijan’s friend is our friend; Azerbaijan’s enemy is our enemy. Azerbaijani lands were occupied by Armenians and no one says ‘Stop.’ This is also genocide and massacre. We see a double standard has been continuing.”

Aliyev also condemned the German Parliament’s decision and said: “They described Azerbaijan as an anti-democratic country. We did not care this decision. We are also condemning the 1915 decision of Germany. The Armenian issue is an excuse for Germany.”
