U.S. airstrikes pave way for PYD

The U.S. Air Force has conducted 25 airstrikes against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in the Manbij district of Aleppo province, 30 kilometres west of the Euphrates.
The terrorist organisation PYD is planning an operation in the area, but Turkey wants to establish a safe zone there. Manbij is located 40 kilometres south of the Turkish border. Turkey states that PYD presence in the area would be a direct threat against Turkey’s national security.
