Baykal: The solution lies in early election

Reportedly the CHP leader Baykal is to go to the President's office and ask that the President intervenes in.

"Only way to give democracy a chance is early election" has said the leader of the Republican People's Party Deniz Baykal, at the declaration he made to Milliyet about the latest developments between the army and the government. Reportedly Baykal is to go to Cankaya and ask Demirel to intervene in. And on the other hand, Baykal has denied the claims that he had made bargaining for Prime Ministry during the True Path Party(DYP) leader Tansu Ciller's visit. The CHP leader denied the trueness of the words he allegedly told Ciller, "Let us go to elections with a government where I am the Prime Minister."

Deniz Baykal thinks that the government will not be able to stand up any longer despite Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz's efforts to reduce the tension. He is to ask the President to bring the leaders together.
Here are Baykal's views:
"A fresh beginning for democracy has become a must at this point. Today's crisis can not be overcome with a few statements and television speeches. Only way to give democracy a chance is an election. The government can not go on working as if nothing had happened. We are at a very troubled point.
We know that the President complains about the scarcity of authorities in the Constitution at such times. Unfortunately the article Demirel wants is not in our Constitution. But this could be done. The President can gather the party chairmans in Cankaya and tell them to take Turkey to elections. Turkey should have elections with reconciliations."
