The death toll from bootleg alcohol poisoning in İstanbul has now risen to 12.
23 people are also currently undergoing treatment in hospital. It appears that in some regions of Istanbul bootleg alcohol is consumed extremely. 20cc of the Bulgarian raki “Mastika”, bootleg alcohol, is priced at 5 liras. Police raided a number of factories and arrested 15 people in connection with the production and sale of the counterfeit alcohol.
