Ciller: I am ashamed

       The General Assembly's special meeting because of the 78th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish National Grand Assembly has turned out to be a controversial one because of the speeches of the leader of the True Path Party Tansu Ciller and the Virtue Party Group Chairman Recai Kutan.
       "On this April 23rd, I am ashamed to be a member of today's parliament." These words by Ciller has caused the session to get tensed. Ecevit who gave a speech after Ciller on the other hand has said, "As a person who is in this parliament with the votes of the public, I am proud to be here. Those who feel ashamed instead of pride have no place in this Parlimaent."
       After Ecevit's speech, the True Path Party members among who was also Tansu Ciller have protested the leader of the Democrat Leftist Party. The deputies of the Motherland Party and the Democrat Leftist Party have applauded the speech Ecevit gave.
       While the True Path Party deputies have gone out to the backstage during the speech of Democrat Turkey Party Group Chairman Mahmut Yılbas, they have taken their places in the General Assembly when the leader of the Greater Union Party Muhsin Yazıcıoglu was speaking.
