Erdoğan describes party’s leadership as relay race

Delivering a speech at the inauguration ceremony in Istanbul on May 6, Erdoğan described the Ak Party’s leadership as a relay race. Erdoğan said, “Positions like this are relay races. I took the flag of Prime Ministry from Mr. Gül {Former President and Prime Minister Abdullah Gül}. Some people are disturbed that I am following closely the developments inside the party. There are my 40-years friends in this party. What can be more natural?” Erdoğan also said a new constitution and presidential system are urgent requirements.
