Parliament in Turkey votes to strip lawmakers’ immunity

The Turkish parliament has approved a controversial bill that will strip nearly the third of its lawmakers of their parliamentary immunity.

376 deputies out of the total 550 approved the bill on May 20.

The bill will become law after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s approval and its publication in the Official Gazette.
