Figures on foreign currency reserves and privatizations handed over to Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz by the bureaucrates of economy pleased him.

The coalition partners rejoiced at the report that was prosented to the Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz. According to the figures in the study, foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank boosted by $146 million as those of the commercial banks surged $112 million in a week's time.
As Mesut Yilmaz presented the economic report of the bureaucrats to the meeting of the Board of Ministers Monday, he also exposed the economic situation in Turkey with some tables.

The "Privatization" chapter said 169 businesses were taken under privatization process from 1985 on. The Privatization Office exercised the handovers of assets and shares of 124 companies and 107 of these businesses are left without public shares. The privatization practices since 1985 amount to $3.7 billion, the report says. A net income of $3.2 million has been received from the sales of stocks and assets by December 31, 1997.
