Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) plan to respond to a pressure from international community for unconditioned negotiations with a joint integration plan. TRNC President Rauf Denktas and Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit are expected to announce that an agreement to be signed that would bring the two states to a kind of a confederative cooperation.
Officials said the agreeement to be signed also has military, economic and politic dimensions. The military aspect of the agreement bids an alliance, while the politic side is expected to announce two communities are a part of a same nation.
Turkey and TRNC Partnership Council met in Nycosia yesterday. The parts discussed a single customs sytem and guaranteeing economic and social rights for Turkish Cypriots in Turkey. However whether the new customs system would contradict the Customs Union with the EU, didn't become certain.
