Stating that the leader of the Motherland Party Mesut Yilmaz did
not keep his promise that he would illuminate the Susurluk event when he
came to power, the parties of the opposition articulated their worry
that Alaadin Cakıcı's relations with Turkey will also be stay obscure.
Deputy General Chairman of the Republican People's Party Cevdet Selvi
claimed that the enthusiasm of those who said they would pursue the
Susurluk scandal till the end has ended and said the same thing could
happen with the Cakıcı incident.
Selvi also stated that the wealth of those businessmen and politicians
who are related with gangs should be investigated by the Ministry of
Finance.
Articulating the uneasiness stemming from the fact that gangs have
leaked into the state so much, Selvi said:
" Whoever may come to power has to rescue the country from this threat.
This government is using the arrest of Cakıcı and Sedat Peker as a
political propaganda. It is possible to trust this government that
displays an indecisive and unstable approach."
