Ocalan to be judged for crimes prior to 1980

The Court decided to wait for the extradition documents in a trial
brought against the PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan and 101 PKK members including his wife Kesire Ocalan for the crimes they committed before Sept. 12 coup. In the first session of the trial in Ankara Penalty court Ocalan's lawyers Hatice Korkut ve Aydın Oruc and the suspect Ramazan Balpetek was present. The head of the court council Ihsan Akcin stated that the council hasn't received the verdict for the sentencement of Ocalan, his wife Kesire Yildirim, Cemil Bayik, Murat Karayilan, Mehmet Milli, Necip Aksahin and Numan Ucar yet.

Ocalan's file hasn't been received yet

Akcin said the answer to the order sent to Ankara State Security Court has been received but the file could not be sent as the Supreme Court hasn't approved it yet, however the death penalty verdict for the suspects Mehmet Karasungur, Salih Kandal, Ali Erek ve Halil Cangun has been received.
